Early voting for the Texas March 4 primary election wraps up tomorrow, February 27, and election officials say turnout has been unexpectedly high heading into the final day of the early voting period.

Texans who have not yet cast a ballot have one last chance to vote early before polls close tomorrow. Anyone who misses early voting can still vote on Election Day, Tuesday, March 4, at their designated precinct polling location.

The higher-than-anticipated turnout during the early voting window signals strong voter engagement ahead of what is shaping up to be a closely watched primary cycle in Texas. While specific statewide early vote totals were not immediately available, election officials in multiple counties have noted the elevated participation.

Texas primaries determine which candidates from the Republican and Democratic parties will advance to the November general election. This cycle features competitive races up and down the ballot, including congressional, state legislative, and local contests that have drawn significant attention and campaign spending from both parties.

For Dallas County voters, early voting locations have been open across the county during the early voting period. Voters can find their nearest early voting site or Election Day polling location through the Dallas County Elections Department website. Voters should bring an acceptable form of photo ID to the polls.

Texas has some of the more specific voter ID requirements in the country. Acceptable forms of identification include a Texas driver's license, state ID card, handgun license, military ID, U.S. passport, or citizenship certificate with photo. Voters who do not have an acceptable photo ID may be able to cast a provisional ballot or sign a Reasonable Impediment Declaration.

Early voting hours tomorrow run through the close of business. Voters are encouraged to check their county elections website to confirm exact closing times and poll locations before heading out.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 4.
