A launch party was held on Thursday morning in Frisco to celebrate the beginning of a new era— the era of drone deliveries.

Google’s Wing is partnering with several companies to bring the futuristic service to North Texas.

“It’s a truly life-changing event here,” Robert Folzenlogen, VP of Hillwood Properties said. “Helping sing to commercialize in the state of Texas … this is really big for the region.”

The drones travel 150 in the air, 65 miles per hour, fast enough to deliver ice cream cold and coffee hot.

Right now, only certain neighborhoods in Frisco and Little Elm are able to order groceries by air, but officials say as long as people like the service, they’re planning to expand.
