PLANO (1080 KRLD)- It's life behind bars for a Plano man, after a "senseless and terrible crime".
That's what the DA called the crime of Jordan Jacobs.
It was July 2021, that prosecutors say Steven Gambles was at the Shops of Legacy, when the 25 year old Jacobs, a complete stranger, passed him outside of the Mini Mart.
Jacobs told his girlfriend that Gambles had been looking at her and so he was going to go rob him as a way to get back. Investigators say Jacobs waited for hours, found Gambles’ car, stole a gun from inside Gambles’ car and waited till he came back.

When Gambles returned after dinner, Jacobs confronted him, and when Gambles' would not cooperate, he shot him in the temple.
A jury found Jacobs guilty of capital murder.
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis says, "“An innocent man was out enjoying dinner with a friend when his life was taken by a violent stranger. The jury’s verdict triggered an automatic punishment of life without the possibility of parole for this senseless and terrible crime."
