A number of North Texas homes are heavily damaged, some virtually destroyed, by fires ignited by lightning last night.
On Thursday evening, fast moving storms raced across North Texas through Parker, Tarrant, Denton and Collin counties.
Homes were struck by lightning in rural Weatherford, Fort Worth, Frisco and at least three each in Little Elm and McKinney.
While Dallas County did not see as much lightning, there was some. So several overnight fires in Dallas may turn out to be lighting related, including a two-alarm fire at a vacant apartment building on Brockbank Drive north of Bachman Lake.
