DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The tornadoes that swept through Dallas, and Collin counties along with parts of Tarrant, Parker, Ellis and Hood counties caused an estimated $1.5 billion dollars in losses.
Camille Garcia with the Insurance Council of Texas says, "As we look at the data going back to 1970, these tornadoes actually fall as the ninth costliest disaster in Texas."
She says Texas insurers have paid over $1.2 billion dollars in losses as of this past May.
