Around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Dallas Fire and Rescue deployed to an apartment building, where the tile roof collapsed causing a partial structure collapse.
The apartment building is located at 5750 Marquita Avenue. Dallas Fire and Rescue had 21 Units at the scene, with a command post set-up at 5800 Greenville Avenue in the heart of Lower Greenville.
A door to door search accounted for all 31, now displaced residents with no reported injuries. A Search and Technical Rescue followed looking for pets.
Because of the tile roof collapse, rescue workers had to work very carefully not to trigger any additional collapses and potentially endangering the rescue of small pets and members of the rescue team.
Engineers will check out the building today to see if it can be saved.
