Ride-share company Lyft plans to deploy self-driving cars in Dallas as soon as next year, its CEO says.

Customers will have the option to select an autonomous vehicle through the Lyft app. The company is partnering with a Japanese firm to implement "Mobileye Drive," a self-driving system announced late last year.

The move marks Lyft’s latest effort to expand autonomous transportation, though the company has not provided a specific timeline for when the service will be fully operational in Dallas.
