A massive law enforcement operation targeting online sexual exploitation of children has wrapped up.
Operation Soteria Shield was a joint effort managed by the FBI's Dallas Field Office.
Allison Hudson with the Dallas Police Department says it happened this Spring.
"We recognize the extraordinary work behind Operation Soteria Shield," Hudson said. "A coordinated law enforcement effort conducted in March and April of 2026 to identify offenders, rescue victims, and protect children from online exploitation."
It resulted in over 275 arrests and the rescue of 89 children.
197 law enforcement personnel across 91 agencies conducted the operation in Texas.
"91 agencies across North Texas joined forces in a united effort to confront one of the darkest and most disturbing crimes we face as a society," Hudson said.
It was managed by the Dallas FBI Field Office as well as the Dallas Police Department, Plano Police Department, Wylie Police Department, and Garland Police Department.
