A man is due in court later today, accused of assaulting a flight attendant and forcing the plane to make an emergency landing.
American Airlines Flight 1497 from DFW to Bozeman, Montana, made an emergency stop in Amarillo yesterday afternoon because of an unruly passenger.
The airline didn't give any specifics of the incident, but a woman on that flight told KVII-TV in Amarillo that the passenger threw several punches at a flight attendant and was spitting at other passengers.
According to jail records, 61-year-old Keith Fagiana was booked into the Randall County Jail and is charged with interfering with a flight crew. He will make his initial court appearance tomorrow.
