An Arlington man faces multiple charges in connection to two separate incidents -- one involving the death of a 63-year-old woman and one involving a hit-and-run crash that injured a woman and her dog.
Officers responded to an apartment complex late Monday near U.S. Highway 360 and Green Oaks Boulevard, where they found a 63-year-old woman unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead.
Arlington police Sgt. Alex Rosado said witnesses, including one person who fired a warning shot in an attempt to defend the victim, were cooperating with investigators.
Police say the suspect, 23-year-old Jacob Arriaga Guerrero, was also involved in a hit-and-run that injured another woman and her dog. Both are expected to recover.
Guerrero has been charged with murder, collision involving injury, and animal cruelty. Authorities said the charges could be upgraded as the investigation continues.
