A man faces a murder charge in connection to a deadly shooting in Oak Cliff on Monday, police say.

The shooting happened on Hartsdale Drive in Oak Cliff, just south of the intersection of Interstate 30 and Westmoreland Road, Dallas police said. Two people were injured in the incident, one of whom, identified as Louis Martinez, later died from his injuries. The second victim was listed in stable condition Tuesday.

Police said the gunman was gone when officers arrived, but police began to look for Juan Martinez in connection to the shooting. He was arrested and faces charges of murder charge and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim who died and the suspected gunman have the same last name and their ages are four years apart. Dallas police did not immediately say if they are related.
