A man was fatally shot by police in far North Fort Worth earlier today.
It happened at around 12:30 this afternoon in a neighborhood near Golden Triangle and Beach Street. Officers encountered a 29-year-old man with a gun, and police say the man pointed his gun at officers. At least one officer fired at the man, striking him. He died at the scene.
The officer or officers who opened fire are on paid administrative leave, as per standard procedure. The department's Major Case Unit is investigating.
