DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A man is dead after being shot in his own apartment this morning in Dallas.
It happened around 2 a.m. at The Hampton at Lakewest Apartments on Bickers Street, south of the Trinity River. Police say someone shot into 37-year-old Desmond Walton's apartment, fatally wounding him in his own bedroom.
When officers arrived, they found Walton lying on the floor. Police say he had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to the hospital, where he ended up dying from his injuries.
At this time, police say they're still searching for leads.
"The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to develop leads," says Dallas Police Officer Carlos Almeida. "There are no suspects in custody at this time."
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to come forward.
