A jury in Fort Worth just sentenced a man to 65 years in prison in a murder-for-hire trial with a strange twist.

21-year-old Damon Cotton was the hitman in a scheme to kill Braylin Brown Senior. The man who paid Cotton was Braylin Brown Junior, the victim's son

Police say Brown Junior and Brown Senior were in a relationship with the same woman in January of 2022 and that the younger Brown paid Cotton to kill his father.

The hit went down in a southern Fort Worth Neighborhood. Cotton was in the back seat of a car that was parked outside the older Brown's home. When he stepped outside, Cotton opened fire and the car sped off.

Another jury found Brown Junior guilty of murder and sent him away for life.
