A man is in serious condition after someone inside a car opened fire on a crowd outside a Halloween party in Dallas.
Police say the shooting happened just before midnight Saturday in the Red Bird area, near the South R.L. Thornton Freeway and West Laureland Road.
Officers arrived to find a large, hostile crowd and a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive.
Investigators say dozens of people had gathered for a Halloween event when a fight broke out between two groups. As one group drove away, someone inside the vehicle fired into the crowd, hitting the victim.
Detectives are still trying to determine whether the man was targeted or caught in the crossfire.
No arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.
