The Dallas Medical Examiner has now identified the victim found shot and killed on I-35 near the Dallas Zoo yesterday.
Turns out the victim was a rapper known to many in the Dallas music scene. Known professionally as Mo3, Melvin Noble was heading north on I-35E near Clarendon around noon when a car pulled up alongside and someone started shooting.
Apparently trapped in traffic, Noble bailed and ran for it but his killer chased him down and finished him off with multiple gunshots.
With all those bullets flying, police are surprised others were not killed. As it is, one other man was hit while sitting in his own car -- but his wounds are not fatal.
Noble's killer got away and no arrests have been announced.
The mid-day killing continues the violent pattern in Dallas this year. So far, homicides are up nearly 20 percent over this time last year.
