A man has died in Dallas after shooting a woman in the neck over the weekend.
Police say the suspect, later identified as Byron Redmon, bled to death following a bizarre chain of events.
Police say they got a call about a shooting at an apartment in the Dallas Medical District. Officers found a large amount of blood in an apartment, but no victim. At the same time, a call came in from Parkland Hospital saying two people were found shot inside a car parked there.
After piecing it together, detectives have determined that Redmon shot the woman, but the bullet exited her neck and struck Redmon in the leg.
The two managed to get to a car at the apartment leaving behind quite a blood trail, and drove the short distance to the hospital.
But even in the short time it took to drive there, Redmon's bleeding was so bad that his life could not be saved. The unidentified woman has already been treated and released.
