Man shot fighting off an armed robbery in Fort Worth

A man in the hospital after getting shot while fighting off an armed robbery in Fort Worth early Wednesday morning.

A little past 1 a.m. police say the man turned up at a Fort Worth hospital bleeding from a bullet wound in his foot. The hospital called the police who came out and spoke to the victim who described what happened.

Reports say the man and his girlfriend were in the parking lot at Maestro's Tacos on Bledsoe near University Drive. Suddenly, they were accosted by three men and two of them had pistols.

Declaring it was a robbery, one of the men shot him in the foot while the others assaulted him. But the man was able to fight them off and they got away without any of the victim's property.

The girlfriend drove him to the hospital about five minutes away, The robbers have not yet been caught but police are looking for them.
