A Tarrant County man is going to prison for the rest of his life for shooting a game-room employee during a robbery.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Albert Gonzalez and an accomplice went into the 5D Smoke Shop and Game Room on Altamesa Boulevard in 2021 to rob the place, and Gonzalez pointed a gun at the clerk.

They say he shot that clerk during the robbery and then stole money from the business and the customers. He has just been convicted of capital murder and received an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors say his accomplice and the getaway driver are also facing charges.
