Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia held a press conference regarding the officer involved shooting that took place Wednesday on Bahama Drive in south Dallas.

Police released bodycam video of the incident showing several fugitive officers in a standoff and shooting with a man wanted on a charge of Capital Murder out of Farmers Branch.

KRLD News is currently awaiting the release of the video to media. Once it is provided, it will be available here.

A man shot by Dallas police Wednesday has died. He was wounded in a shootout with Dallas police who pulled over a car in which he was a passenger.

Police say the man was wanted for capital murder in another city and a Dallas police fugitive unit had a warrant in his name.

Around 3 p.m. they spotted him on Bahama Drive in Kessler Park. The driver pulled into the parking lot at the Bahama Glen Apartments and got out of the car as ordered by police. But the wanted man opened fire on police who fired right back, striking the man several times.

He was in critical condition when he arrived at the hospital but has now been pronounced dead.

One officer was shot in the foot. He was treated at the hospital and has now been sent home.
