The Mansfield school board has accepted the resignation of school board president Courtney Lackey Wilson and elevated vice-president Michelle Newsom to the top spot.
Wilson turned in her resignation suddenly this week and yesterday said it's due to health and personal reasons.
Last year, she was elected to a fourth term on the school board and elected by fellow trustees to be board President.
Newsom says the board will wait awhile before deciding whether to appoint a new trustee to fill out the remaining two years on Wilson's Place 7 seat.
