Marie Tippit, widow of Dallas policeman J.D. Tippit, dies at age 92

Marie Tippit has died. The widow of Dallas police officer JD Tippit was 92.

Officer Tippit was gunned down by suspect Lee Harvey Oswald about 45 minutes after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas.

In the 57 years since, Marie Tippit has often been seen as a representative of all who have lost police officer spouses to on-duty violence.

Her son Curtis says his mom began showing symptoms of the Coronavirus several weeks ago. However, her cause of death has not been confirmed.

It is expected she will be buried next to officer Tippit at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
