A top Mavericks executive has been fired, the same exec who was last year named in a Sports Illustrated story on sexual assault accusations.
Last July, Mavericks' director of player personnel Tony Ronzone was the subject of an SI investigative piece detailing what an accuser claimed had occurred in Ronzone's Las Vegas hotel room during the 2019 NBA Summer League.
Ronzone and the team denied everything and questioned Sports Illustrated's journalistic ethics in running the story in the first place.
But now, a local newspaper reports Ronzone has been sacked after the team learned "new information" about those initial Las Vegas accusations.
A team spokesman is declining to comment to the media as is Mark Cuban.
Ronzone had been the Mavs director of player personnel since 2012.
