The mayor of Pilot Point has been arrested for soliciting a minor.
Dallas police say following an undercover operation, they busted 42-year-old Matthew McIlravy, on the charge of online solicitation of a minor under the age of 14, a 2nd-degree felony.
McIlravy is the current mayor of Pilot Point, although his profile has been taken down from the city's website.
Police say the arrest is the culmination of a five-month-long investigation and its revealed other communications with minors who have not been identified.
McIlravy has a wife and two children and teaches at Midway Church.
He took the office of Mayor of Pilot Point in May.
