The Collin County disaster response group The Minuteman organization has already deployed to Fort Myers, Florida -- one of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Ian.
Based in McKinney, the Minutemen loaded up dozens of generators and a truckload of gasoline for the trip to the hurricane zone.
On Sunday, the trained volunteers from a Fort Myers church on how to safely and effectively muck out flooded homes.
Beside its home base in McKinney, the organization also has district coordinators in Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton and Tulsa.
