A McKinney man has been arrested for killing his wife. Police were called to the home Friday evening after paramedics found the woman's body.

In a press release, police say concern started among family members overseas who worried Eslam Mohamed, 42, might have been having a medical emergency. A relative in Dallas called 911 Friday asking for paramedics to check on him.

McKinney firefighters arrived at the home on Broken Spur Drive and forced their way in. They found Mohamed on the couch "with minor injuries and visible blood on his hands." They say Mohamed told them his wife was in a bedroom closet. They found her with a stab wound to her neck and a knife nearby.

Firefighters then left the house and waited for police. When McKinney Police arrived, they arrested Mohamed, took him to the hospital for treatment and then booked him into the Collin County Jail.

The victim, Kubra Zafer, 40, was Mohamed's wife. McKinney Police say they are still investigating what might have led to the stabbing.

Monday morning, Mohamed was still listed in the Collin County Jail on a charge of murder and $1 million bond.
