A McKinney man is in jail after police found a woman's body at a home on Sunday morning.
Police say they have arrested a man named Chad Stevens on charges of evidence tampering, shortly after finding a woman's body in Stevens' house on Pearson Avenue.
"I woke up this morning, and all I heard was helicopters and police telling someone on Pearson Ave. to come outside with their hands out," Carolina Murillo told NBC 5. She said her family woke up to the presence of McKinney Police on their street.
Police were at the home Sunday investigating. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Heather Schwab.
Police say Stevens has a lengthy police record. In a news release sent out to media, police said Schwab had been missing, but a spokesperson couldn't confirm details on Sunday.
The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective Monte Robertson at 972-547-2724.
