McKinney police have announced that no charges will be filed in a case initially investigated as a hit-and-run involving the death of a 14-year-old boy.
Jamir Dabney was struck by a vehicle in December while walking near Lake Forest Drive and Highlands Drive. He later died from his injuries.
Authorities initially suspected that a vehicle had fled the scene, but further investigation, including witness interviews and video evidence, revealed that the suspected vehicle was not involved in the incident.
Police confirmed that the driver who hit Dabney remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. They found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
The case has been closed with no charges filed.
