Medical City is deploying a number of surge medical tents which serve as small remote hospitals.
Those tents are being deployed out of the Medical City Arlington and Medical City Frisco locations and can treat some minor injuries that are usually treated at their hospitals.
Dr. Victor Portillo with Medical City Trauma Surgery says they are anticipating alcohol-related injuries.
"When you have these major sporting events, people tend to drink a little bit of alcohol," Dr. Portillo said. "If they overdrink they potentially lose balance and end up falling."
Besides injuries in major crowds, Dr. Portillo says they are expecting an increase in day-to-day issues as well.
"With that increase volume will come increase volume in traffic," Dr. Portillo said. "Car wrecks and things we tend to see every day but now we're expecting in higher numbers."
The other Medical City locations throughout Dallas Fort Worth will also be capable of deploying these tents quickly if necessary.
