The FBI has taken a Memphis rapper into custody following an alleged kidnapping and robbery in Dallas earlier this year involving a well-known local artist.
Lontrell Williams Jr., known as Pooh Shiesty, was arrested along with his dad and several other people.
U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Ryan Raybould says they arranged a meeting with three victims who were local to North Texas. One was reportedly rapper Gucci Mane.
"Once these three men were inside the recording studio, Williams Jr. and eight co-conspirators, several of whom traveled from Memphis Tennessee, executed a coordinated armed takeover," Raybould said.
Prosecutors say they forced the victims to sign a release at gunpoint and then robbed them of jewelry and watches.
One person was arrested in Frisco but the others were taken into custody in Tennessee and elsewhere.
