Early Monday morning Mesquite police heard gunshots and what started as a car chase turned into a foot pursuit, leaving one suspect in the hospital.
Around 2:54 a.m. Mesquite Police drove to the area of I-30 and Sorrento Blvd. after hearing gunshots being fired. The suspected vehicle was speeding and exited Gus Thomasson Rd. As the suspects attempted to continue west on I-30, they lost control and crashed.
It was found that four men left that vehicle and police left their cars to chase them on foot. During the pursuit, shots were fired and one suspect was hit multiple times while the other three left the scene.
The suspect was sent to a local hospital and is currently listed as stable. Officers were able to give descriptions of the three suspects. Later Monday morning officials were able to catch two suspects while the fourth one is still on the loose.
This is an ongoing investigation. Come back for more details.
