A Mexican national pleaded guilty Friday to smuggling people into the United States through a tunnel connecting Juarez, Mexico to El Paso, Texas.
The Justice Department says Luis Carlos Davalos-Lopez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to bring in aliens to the United States.
Prosecutors say Davalos-Lopez demonstrated a total disregard for the nation's laws by conspiring to smuggle illegal aliens into the U-S.
"The defendants in this case were key figures in a criminal enterprise that has had a heavy, detrimental impact on both sides of the border, smuggling drugs and illegal aliens into the U.S.," said U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons.
Prosecutors say he charged up to $30,000 for people to use the tunnel to cross into Texas.
Two others pleaded guilty last month.
The FBI, ATF, DEA, and Homeland Security investigated with assistance from the Border Patrol.
