Texas Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddux is leaving the organization.

Maddux helped guide the Rangers to a World Series title in 2023 and led the league with a 3.41 ERA in 2025. He decided to depart after the Rangers replaced fired manager Bruce Bochy with Skip Schumaker.

This was Maddux's second stint with Texas. He previously served under Ron Washington and Jeff Banister from 2009 to 2015 before leaving for a similar role with the Washington Nationals. He returned in 2023 to work with Bochy and pitchers including Nathan Eovaldi and Jacob deGrom.

The Los Angeles Angels are reportedly hiring Maddux as their new pitching coach.
