Make-A-Wish North Texas has received the largest single gift in its history: a $2 million donation from the Miller family that aims to eliminate long wait times for children with critical illnesses.

The transformational gift, announced at a special celebration on April 9, launches the chapter’s new “Two Years, Too Long” campaign. It will help clear the current pipeline of more than 1,100 waiting wishes across North Texas, ensuring no child has to wait up to two years — or longer — for the hope and strength a wish can provide.

The donation comes from Carolyn and David Miller, Katy and Kyle Miller, and Meredith and Kyle Bebee. David Miller, co-founder of EnCap Investments LP and chairman of Southern Methodist University’s board of trustees, has deep philanthropic ties in North Texas. The family also participated in a $50 million gift to SMU earlier this year to support student-athletes.

Make-A-Wish North Texas serves 161 counties from its Dallas-area headquarters and grants life-changing wishes to children facing critical illnesses. Officials say the new funding will dramatically accelerate the pace of wish-granting, giving families joy and strength when they need it most.

The record donation is expected to have a lasting impact on the local community by helping more North Texas children experience their wishes sooner.
