More than half a billion dollars is headed to the 11 host cities in the United States that will be having matches in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

That money is specifically targeted for security and anti-terrorism.

Senator John Cornyn says that obviously includes money for both Dallas and Houston which are host cities in Texas.

"We were able to secure $625-million dollars in the Working Family Tax Cuts bill for security funding that will go to FIFA host cities," Cornyn said.

He says security measures will have to be put in place for the safety of the players as well as fans attending the matches.

"Like the Super Bowl, this is a target for people who want to commit crimes and acts including terrorism," Cornyn said.

Other host cities outside of Texas in the United States include Atlanta, Boston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, and San Francisco.
