Several North Texas Fire Departments are getting millions of dollars to both hire and train first responders.
Senator John Cornyn's office made the announcement that over $28-million worth of federal grants are headed to North Texas firefighters.
"Texas is home to some of the nation’s bravest and most highly skilled first responders and firefighters, who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty and risk their own safety to help others," said Sen. Cornyn.
The money will be spread out over Fort Worth, Irving, Waxahachie, Frisco, Mansfield, Decatur, Aubrey, and Princeton.
Cornyn says these resources will provide critical support to fire departments and equip our heroes with the tools needed to continue saving lives.
