The Millsap ISD school board will hold a meeting Monday night to determine the employment status of two teachers and the district's superintendent, who have been accused of mistreating a student.
The controversy began when a video surfaced showing one teacher swatting at the child and another throwing a toy at him. The video was recorded by a former employee who has since resigned, claiming that district officials pressured her to delete the footage and sign a non-disclosure agreement.
The student's grandfather said the family was not informed of the incident until 10 days after it occurred. He has called for the superintendent’s dismissal, criticizing the official for failing to take prompt action.
Both teachers and the superintendent have been arrested and are facing criminal charges related to the incident. The school board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., where the board will vote on whether to terminate the educators' employment.
