The original schedule that was completed before the recent 99 day owners lockout called for the Rangers to open the season with that four-game set against New York.
The Yankees always draw huge crowds on the road and the Rangers' front office was unhappy to lose all that revenue.
Under the revised schedule, Texas opens the season on April 8th on the road in Toronto before returning to Globe Life Field for its home opener, hosting the Rockies on April 11th.
