Did you know today, July 20th is National Moon Day, also known as the Space Exploration Day?
Each year it is recognizd to commemorate the anniversary of the United States' first crewed mission to the moon, and the landing of astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon on July 20, 1969.
Frontiers of Flight, Texas' premier aviation and space museum, is celebrating their 15th annual Moon Day celebration this Saturday July 22nd. They invite everyone in the DFW Metroplex to come out. Admission grants free entry to this event.
K-12 Educators will even get to earn CPE credits while attending Moon Day! Up to 7 credit hours may be earned for attending the entire day and enough presentations! You will receive your certificate after turning in our tracking sheet.
Special guests will even be in attendance such as retired astronaut Shane Kimbrough.
Abigale Erikson Torres, CEO of Frontiers of Flight Museum and Rosalie Wade, their Director of Education joined the KRLD Afternoon News to share more details about what visitors can expect.
