A woman charged in the disappearance of her 6-year-old son from Everman has been captured in India after more than a year on the run, federal authorities say.

Cindy Rodriguez-Singh was taken into custody this week, according to the FBI. She had been wanted in connection with the disappearance of her son, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, who was last seen in November 2022.

Authorities said Rodriguez-Singh, her husband, and six other children fled to India shortly after Noel vanished. His body has never been found.

Rodriguez-Singh was charged with capital murder in Tarrant County in October 2023, and the FBI added her to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in July.

Everman Police Chief Al Brooks said his investigators at one point coordinated with authorities in five different countries in their search.

Rodriguez-Singh has been returned to the U.S. and is awaiting extradition to Texas, authorities said.
