According to reports, the $25,000 ad from the Lincoln Project was approved by ESPN’s legal department, but just minutes before kickoff ESPN was told the ad would not run, and that it was a University decision.

The Lincoln Project blames the Governor saying Abbott used his influence to make sure the ad did not air, but he insists he had nothing to do with it.

The ad named "Abbott’s Wall," claims that if you made a wall from the caskets of Texans who died of COVID-19, it would stretch from Austin to San Antonio.
