The Navarro County health director has died from the Coronavirus.
The county's Office of Emergency Management confirms that Dr. Kent Rogers died Saturday. A post on Rogers' own Facebook page says he was faced with the prospect of being on a ventilator long-term.
Even after exhausting "most every available treatment" his "already diminished lung capacity made recovery difficult." So decided to be removed from the ventilator and died under "comfort care only."
In addition to his medical career, Rogers was also a long-time trustee on the Corsicana school board.
