There is a new professional athlete on the scene representing for North Texas. Dontae Smiley made his debut last week on All Elite Wrestling.
KRLD's David Rancken and Kristin Diaz spoke with him about all of the excitement.
Dontae was raised in the DFW Metroplex, having lived in North Dallas and the Colony and even attending UNT in Denton. He says it is a special feeling being able to represent for his hometown.
Through the coronavirus pandemic, he says performing without fans has been different but there's nothing like working with AEW legends that are accessible for conversation and critique. He says his recent debut was an amazing experience and he looks forward to being a part of the organization again for future matches.
