Some new details have been released regarding the death of convicted killer Billy Chemirmir who was found murdered in prison last month.

A report from the state Attorney General's office about Chemirmir's death claims he was assaulted by his cellmate and sustained injuries resulting in his death.

The report claims he was killed with some kind of knife or edged instrument and that he also suffered from blunt force trauma.

The cellmate allegedly beat Chemirmir, dragged him out of his cell, and killed him while other inmates watched. No one intervened and no one was notified until about 10 to 15 minutes after the assault was over.

Chemirmir was found guilty of the murders of two women in their 80s in Dallas County. He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in April 2022.

Chemirmir was connected to several other murders and is accused of killing at least 22 senior citizens in Dallas and Collin counties between 2016 and 2018.
