DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Digital kiosks are coming to the sidewalks of Dallas and not everyone is happy about it.

The digital kiosks will assist visitors trying to find their way around the city and be an added revenue stream for Dallas. But some residents don't like the idea of them taking up too much sidewalk space.

Councilman Paul Ridley says they need to think twice about the move. "We shouldn't be cramming down their throats more street furniture that they don't want and would repell access for the disabled."

Static kiosks are already out there and only make the city about $4,700 bucks per kiosk a year. The new digital model can make the city around $20,000 a year. "Evey single city that I've been to that have these have never been blocking the sidewalk," says Councilman Adam Bazaldua.

Bazaldua says not every neighborhood will get one and removing the static kiosks should be a top priority.
