For the third month in a row, North Texas home-builders took out fewer construction permits in October.

Following declines in August and September, the October numbers were down 14 percent, according to the Texas A&M Real Estate Research Center.

Analysts say that while demand for new homes remains very strong, other elements are depressing housing starts right now from supply chain worries to costs for labor and land.

Another issue, most builders are so busy right now that they are in no hurry to take out permits for builds they won't be able to get to for some time.
