There will be some new security measures in place at the State Fair of Texas when the fair opens in about three weeks.

There will be a new "See Something, Tell Us About it Partner" program where fair goers with concerns can scan a QR code off of several signs and immediately be in contact with the command center.

"It's an incident-management software that puts all these requests up on a live dashboard on the command center," State Fair of Texas Director of Security Retired Dallas Police Deputy Chief Jeff Cotner said. "Suspicious person, overflowing trash can, somebody tripped and fell, an interesting odor."

There is also a new clear bag policy that will be in place.
Bags must not exceed 9 X 10 X 12.

There will be exceptions for medical and childcare bags.

The weapons ban will remain in place as will the minors policy where anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult after 5 o'clock.

The State Fair of Texas opens on September 26th and runs through October 19th.
