There are new safety and security questions surrounding the upcoming FIFA World Cup following Operation Epic Fury in Iran and the cartel attacks in Mexico.

North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee President Monica Paul says they stay in contact with numerous law enforcement agencies from the local level to Washington.

She answered security questions this week at a North Texas FIFA World Cup event in Frisco.

"DHS, FBI, SISA, we've got federal coordinators. We are working across the board with Arlington, Fort Worth, Dallas, Frisco police, DFW International Airport, Dallas Love Field, DART, Trinity Metro, across the board putting together those plans," Paul said Tuesday.

She says they are focused on making sure the World Cup is safe and secure not only for fans and spectators but also for residents living in host cities.

Besides Operation Epic Fury in Iran, there were concerns given the amount of cartel violence in the Mexico host city of Guadalajara.

Both Dallas and Houston are host cities this summer in Texas.

Downtown Dallas will be home to the International Broadcast Center on top of AT&T Stadium in Arlington hosting more matches than any other host city in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
