The NFL has banned the "nose wipe" gesture, popularized by Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, as part of its updated rules for the 2025 season.
The league considers the gesture a "violent act" due to its association with gang-related symbolism.
Players performing the gesture will now face a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
Lamb has expressed his disappointment but hinted at creating new celebrations for the upcoming season.
