A fire at a recycling plant in West Dallas on Sunday sent thick, black smoke billowing into the sky, visible for several miles across North Texas.
The blaze broke out around 3:45 p.m. at the Cham Star Recycling Facility on Singleton Boulevard. Firefighters responded quickly and brought the flames under control by the afternoon.
Officials said no one was working in the area where the fire started, and no injuries were reported. Investigators confirmed that no hazardous materials were involved, and the fire primarily burned pallets loaded with paper.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
